Diabetic Speciality Clinic

The Diabetic Specialty Clinic is a Westminster Free Clinic program offered to help diabetics control their condition and have better health outcomes. Diabetes is one of the top diagnoses at WFC with hundreds of patients struggling to get their blood sugars under control, but with prevention and medical care, the side effects can be decreased.

Currently there are about 60 patients in the program. The patients see the same physician, nurse, podiatrist, and dietitian all in one visit every 3 to 6 months depending on how controlled they are. More comprehensive monitoring and case management are provided.

All diabetic patients are provided with the services listed above. Patients of the Diabetes Specialty Clinic benefit from coordinated, more personalized, care to improve their outcomes. Once improvements occur, patients “graduate” back into the main clinic.
